Fall mindfulness
Most of the time when I leave the house I'm on a mission for something practical like groceries or paint or new shoes for the kids. But today, I felt the need for some fall inspiration and headed over to Zittel Farms in Folsom. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, but it is also one of the busiest for my family. I have so much to do--don't we all! Still, I don't want to let this precious autumn season slip away without drinking in all that I love about it--the golden sunlight, the amazing colors and shapes of pumpkins and gourds, the warm, spiced flavors of pumpkin treats and mulled cider. Today I got away for 30 minutes of fall mindfulness, you can do it too. I know the groceries and the shoes are important, but the leaves are changing--don't miss it! Tomorrow I'm sitting down with a warm cup of tea and working on my fall bucket list. I'm thinking apple picking, fall hikes, maybe a road trip somewhere new to do some leaf peeping. These amber days of autumn are far too fleeting to procrastinate on the good stuff.
